A New Toy

Recently I have had some troubles with the Harley. I had to take apart the carb and work some winter "kinks" out of the system. It was her first(and hopefully only) winter outside. She has been having trouble holding a charge. The last thing you want to be is broken down on a bike somewhere so I ran out and got a battery pack charger that is capable of jumping cars. It has a light, usb charger, 12v charger and even a mini air compressor. This of it as the swiss army knife of roadside repairs. The poor thing has only been used to jump a bike that I was too lazy to buy a battery for(problem that has since been remedied). The battery charger sits in the trunk waiting...charged....ready to meet the demands of a stranded motorist....and that has finally come.

TODAYS DEED. I jumped a work college with the new charger. Yesterday it was a toy and now it has proven its worth. Congrats Charger, way to save the day.

On a separate note don't forget tomorrow is Administrative Assistants day! April you are AWESOME! You are great at everything that you do...except making MonkeyBread...I am pretty sure we know who holds that record....my Mom.

Man Camp

Often life gives us things that we can share. Money, food, friendship, and love. There are some things that you dint think to share but are as equally important. Knowledge! It is my opinion that a lot of the "art" of being a "man" is lost or is being lost. We pay people to do anything(Chang a tire) to mowing the yard. I love the oppertunity to roll up my sleeves and get after a task that most been my age would not even consider. What is even better is when you impart a little knowledge in the process.

TODAYS DEED: Taught a buddy how to Drive a motorcycle. We replaced the battery as well. After that I helped our landlord fix the kitchen sink. It was a very "manly" day.... I need a beer.

BACK AT IT

Sorry for the delay. Its been since the end of OCT when I made the move "East" since my last Blog. I missed a few days making that drive and kept putting it off and putting it off, sorry about that. A lot has happened in those months. A whole lot of living and a whole lot of loving and I've been blessed with a lot in return.
I haven't been missing any days and I make sure of that I keep trying to make a difference. The one thing that I do notice is when other people are doing the same. Minor stuff like holding a door or making space on the Metro. I hope you are all out there still making small improvements in your lives and certainly the lives of those around you. The world is a chaotic place and I am thankful for people like you that are making a difference...one day at a time.

TODAY'S DEED: I brought breakfast into work this morning. They say breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Although I doubt if that meal is just as important when it consists of muffins and cinnamon rolls it truly is the thought that counts.

Happy Friday ya'll-I'm Back.    -American

DAY 31: Buy Pie

Slice of life is a fund raising organization that works with many other organizations and charities. They raise money for food for friends which is similar to meals on wheels and has also supported HIV/AIDs programs to raise money for treatment medicines. I have not yet got to sink my teeth into the pie but I am looking forward to supporting the organization and eatting!

TODAYS DEED: Bought a pie, helped raise money for "Food For Friends"

DAY 31: Wheel Up

Another day of driving. Not much good to do other than letting people merge and not flipping the bird to slow Ohio Drivers.

TODAYS DEED: Helped an old lady wheel her husband up the ramp at the rest stop.

DAY 30: Leave a Penny

TODAYS DEED: On the road all day driving from Fort Collins to Maryville, MO then Kansas City. Didn't have time for much so all I was able to do was leave a few pennies at a Lincoln, NE gas station after I heckled the cashier about the MU/OU game! GO TIGERS
